  • "Kat has been very patient with our child and has been trying to help him with reading and writing. It's hard to engage him, and she has been creative in finding ways to capture his attention despite how challenging it is. We enjoy her visits and find her to be enthusiastic and creative."

  • "We had a great experience with Kat. Our son wanted some support with Math and he wanted to pass his SATs which is why we reached out to tutoring. With her patient and encouraging attitude she managed to elevate him to a good level - and he passed his test and did very well! It was a boost to his confidence and couldn't be achieved without Kat. We are very grateful!"

  • “My learner is very shy and is selective about whom she wants to interact with…. Kat quickly established a good rapport and made my learner feel safe and open to new things. I was surprised to see how comfortable she was… Her self-confidence has significantly grown after working with Kat, and she shared how she enjoyed her time with her. I am very grateful for Kat’s support, and I would definitely recommend her service”

    - C, 2025

  • "I am incredibly grateful for Kat's tutoring support for my son. She was calm, patient, and truly attentive to his learning needs. Thanks to her guidance, my son was able to pass his phonics test, something he had struggled with in Year 1. Kat's approach made a significant difference, and I can see the progress he's made under her care. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dedicated and effective tutor!"

    - C, 2025

  • "My neurodivergent child has really benefitted from Kat's tuition. She used to struggle with spelling, would avoid writing and disliked English. Kat was able to spark a love of story-making through finding fun and engaging ways to help her, boosting confidence rather than applying pressure. She has gained heaps of confidence and is now spelling, writing and creating stories more independently. She positively looks forward to lessons with Kat and is proud of how far she has progressed!"

Maths, English & Beyond

We offer friendly, one-to-one support in phonics, numeracy, English, maths, and all other subjects, helping children of all learning styles from the early years to secondary school. Whether your child is just starting with letters and numbers or needs extra help with reading, writing, grammar, maths, or preparing for exams, we make learning feel engaging, safe, and manageable. We understand that each child has their own way of learning, so we tailor our approach to meet them where they are, working at their pace to ensure they feel confident, supported, and empowered throughout their journey.

Communication & Support

Sometimes children just need someone who truly understands them. Alongside learning, we offer a safe space where your child can feel heard, supported, and accepted. Through gentle guidance, we help build communication and conversation skills in a natural, relaxed way. Whether it’s learning to share their thoughts, express their needs, or simply gain confidence in everyday conversations, it’s all about building connections in a relaxed, pressure-free way.

Exam Management

We understand that preparing for exams like SATs and GCSEs can feel especially challenging for neurodiverse young people. The pressure of studying, coupled with heightened stress and anxiety, can make the experience even harder. That’s why we offer a supportive approach that takes into account their individual needs. We help break study material down into smaller, manageable chunks, providing tools to stay organised and focused. But we also prioritise mental health—offering strategies to manage stress, build resilience, and create a calm space for learning. Our goal is to ensure that your child feels not only academically prepared but emotionally supported, so they can approach their exams with greater confidence, knowing they have the right tools to succeed at their own pace.

Is NeuroBright right for my child?

This may be a good fit if your child:

  • is neurodivergent, awaiting a diagnosis, or showing traits of neurodivergence.

  • is in mainstream education but finding certain areas of learning more challenging than their peers.

  • attends a SEN school and would benefit from additional 1-to-1 support.

  • is home educated and would benefit from structured, personalised learning.

  • finds it difficult to maintain confidence, focus or motivation in their learning.

  • would benefit from calm, patient 1-to-1 support tailored to their individual way of learning.

  • would feel more comfortable working with someone who has a shared understanding of neurodivergence.

Who We Are

Hi, I’m Kat - founder of NeuroBright Tutoring. I was diagnosed with autism at the age of five, back in 2000, a time where there wasn’t much awareness or support for neurodivergent kids like me. School wasn’t easy - despite being clever, I struggled with academics, but even more than that, I often felt isolated. I struggled to fit in and spent a lot of time feeling on the outside. I was bullied, and it sometimes felt like there wasn’t a place for me in that world.

With support from my family, I found my own path, and left school with 11 GCSE’s and a diploma in Further Education. I leaned into creativity, and went on to train as an actor at LAMDA, eventually completing a Master of Fine Arts. I began teaching at stage schools - and that’s where I found something that felt really meaningful. I realised I had a real passion for supporting young people who, like me, experience the world a little differently.

That’s what led me to tutoring, and eventually to creating NeuroBright. It’s built on empathy, patience, and the belief that every child deserves to feel understood. I know what it’s like to learn in a way that doesn’t always match the system - and I’ve seen how powerful it can be when someone takes the time to understand and support that. NeuroBright is here to be that space for others.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Sessions are £45 per hour. We offer weekly, bi-weekly or monthly sessions, depending on what works best for your child and family.

Many students attend weekly sessions to build consistency and confidence. Due to the nature of our approach, we focus on regular sessions rather than ad-hoc bookings, as this helps children feel more settled and supported over time.

  • We take a flexible, personalised approach to teaching, recognising that every child learns in their own way. Sessions are carefully adapted to suit each child’s individual needs, strengths and learning style.

This may include working at a slower pace, breaking learning into smaller, manageable steps, or incorporating creative and game-based approaches to support engagement and build confidence. We may also use visual supports, structured routines, repetition for reinforcement, and child-led activities to help build comfort and motivation. We also allow for movement and regular breaks where needed, helping children to feel more regulated, comfortable and able to engage.

Our approach is always shaped around the child, rather than expecting the child to fit a set method.

  • Yes, absolutely. A formal diagnosis is not required. We support many children who are awaiting assessment or who may show traits of neurodivergence, and sessions are always tailored to the individual child.

  • Yes. We have experience supporting children with a range of learning needs and adapt sessions to suit each child’s individual strengths, pace and way of learning.

  • Yes. We take a calm, patient and understanding approach, recognising that all behaviour is a form of communication.

Sessions are adapted to reduce pressure and support engagement, helping children feel safe, comfortable and able to take part at their own pace. If you’re unsure, we’re very happy to talk through your child’s needs during a consultation.

  • Yes. Sessions are designed to be low-pressure and flexible, with a focus on creating a calm and supportive environment where your child feels safe and able to engage in a way that works for them.

  • We do not offer formal taster sessions. However, we offer a free phone consultation to talk through your child’s needs and see if NeuroBright is the right fit.

After the first session, if you feel the support is not suitable, there is no obligation to continue.

  • We understand that affordability is an important consideration for many families. While we are not currently able to offer subsidised sessions, we do offer bi-weekly and monthly options to help make support more manageable.
